Contractors are expected to begin rebuilding the railroad crossing at the intersection of Industrial Highway and Beechnut Drive in Pittsburgh on Monday, October 28, 2024 weather permitting. This is the crossing that allows access to Talon Logistics (OK Grocery), UPS, ABF and a number of other businesses. This construction, weather permitting, should be done on Friday, November 1, 2024.
There will be no posted detour and there are no plans to post one. The majority of the truck traffic will most likely need to use Ingram Avenue to West Prospect Avenue to Broadhead Fording Road as their detour. With that in mind it is estimated that in a 24 hour period 750-850 trucks alone use that crossing.
We suggest that those living on West Prospect Ave, if possible, not park on the street during that period of construction.
