DO YOU NEED TO MAKE REPAIRS TO YOUR HISTORIC STRUCTURE?
The FIRST step is to submit a completed Certificate of Appropriateness Application, for review and approval of the HISTORIC/ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD.
Printed applications for the required CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS are available at City Hall and downloadable copies are available at CityofCedarKey.org under the Forms tab. The application is also attached.
Completed applications require information specific to your property and descriptions of the requested actions—including necessary drawings, photos, and necessary supplemental documentation, including a sketched site plan, and building elevation renderings from street view,
This application includes a required NOTARIZED AFFIDAVIT from the property owner, swearing their ownership, and appointing another person to represent them, if necessary.
Many minor repairs can be handled with a simple Administrative Approval, without presentation to the Board, however, all projects require the application be submitted.
All submittals require a $250 application fee for review. If it is determined that the application can be approved administratively, then a credit of $150 will be issued to the applicant.
A volunteer from the HISTORIC/ARCHITECTURE REVIEW BOARD will be available at City Hall for several hours per week to assist with application preparation, if you need help.
The first available assistance date is TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2024 FROM 1:00 TO 4:00p.m. A notary public will be available at this time, as well. PLEASE CALL FOR A RESERVED TIME, IF POSSIBLE.
