Volusia County Announces a New Sandbag Site,
with Distribution to Continue Tomorrow
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA – Volusia County will continue operating its four sandbag distribution sites on Tuesday, Oct. 8, maintaining the same locations and operating hours as today. Additionally, the County is opening a new self-service sandbag site from 1 to 5 p.m. today, Oct. 7, at Fire Rescue Station 45, St. Johns Station, 2580 W. State Road 44, DeLand.
A drive-thru, pre-filled sandbag site at the Volusia County Branch Jail, 1300 Red John Drive, Daytona Beach, will again open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow. Volusia County will also continue providing self-service sandbag distribution sites from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at the following locations:
• Fire Rescue Station 22, Oak Hill Station, 213 N. U.S. Highway 1, Oak Hill
• Fire Rescue Station 23, Turnbull Station, 1850 Pioneer Trail, New Smyrna Beach
• Fire Rescue Station 34, Indian Mound Station, 1700 Enterprise-Osteen Road, Osteen
• Fire Rescue Station 45, St. Johns Station, 2580 W. State Road 44, DeLand
Residents may receive 10 sandbags and must bring their own shovels to the self-service sites. They are also advised to avoid blocking the fire station bays to ensure emergency personnel can respond to calls without delay.
All County-operated sandbag sites are open to residents from both incorporated cities and unincorporated areas of Volusia County upon proof of residency. A complete list of sandbag locations, including those managed by municipalities, is available on the Volusia Emergency Management app.
