Special Weather Statement issued September 22 at 12:21AM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 1221 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Hummelstown to 12 miles north of Shippensburg.
Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Harrisburg, York, Carlisle, Lower Allen, Hanover, Hershey, Colonial
Park, Weigelstown, Elizabethtown, Columbia, Progress, Mechanicsburg,
Middletown, Camp Hill, Gettysburg, Mount Joy, New Cumberland,
Parkville, Red Lion, and Enola.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
