Special Weather Statement issued August 30 at 5:44PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 544 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Mount Lebanon, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Monroeville,
McKeesport, Gastonville, Plum, West Mifflin, North Side Pittsburgh,
Baldwin, Upper St. Clair, Scott Township, Wilkinsburg, Whitehall,
South Park Township, Munhall, Jefferson Hills, North Versailles, and
Brentwood.
This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 54 and 57.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania mile marker 53 and near mile marker
56.
Parkway North between mile markers 1 and 2.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 66 and 84.
