Special Weather Statement issued August 18 at 5:27PM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 526 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
East Petersburg, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lancaster, Columbia, Lititz, Millersville, Mount Joy, Manheim, East
Petersburg, Salunga-Landisville, Mountville, Marietta, Wrightsville,
Yorkana, East Prospect, Washington Boro, and Lancaster Airport.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
