Flash Flood Warning issued August 7 at 5:00PM EDT until August 7 at 8:15PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ
At 500 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Reports of flash flooding on roadways
has been reported in Seaford. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Seaford, Laurel, Federalsburg, Bridgeville, Sycamore, Blades,
Greenwood and Bethel.
Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
