Special Weather Statement issued August 6 at 6:17PM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 617 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Myerstown to Elizabethtown. Movement was east
at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lebanon, Ephrata, Elizabethtown, Lititz, Mount Joy, New Holland,
Manheim, East Petersburg, Cornwall, Akron, Myerstown, Leola,
Salunga-Landisville, Denver, Reamstown, Rothsville, Sand Hill,
Newmanstown, Lebanon South, and Adamstown.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
