Special Weather Statement issued August 6 at 6:12PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 611 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Hershey to McConnellsburg.
Movement was east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Harrisburg, Chambersburg, Carlisle, Lower Allen, Hershey, Colonial
Park, Progress, Mechanicsburg, Middletown, Camp Hill, Palmyra, New
Cumberland, Linglestown, Enola, Steelton, Shippensburg, Lemoyne,
Hummelstown, Guilford, and St. Thomas.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
