Description
Hatboro and surrounding areas could become impacted by flash flooding and severe storms beginning August 6, 2024 through August 10, 2024. Significant event details and developments are as follows from the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety:
1. Montgomery County is in a Flood Watch starting at 1400 today.
2. Storms this evening into tonight also present a moderate threat for flash flooding for the entirety of the county. Total Rainfall amounts will range from 1.5 to 2.5 inches, with locally higher amounts exceeding 5 inches of rain. Areas of flash flooding are probable, with hourly rainfall rates of up to 2 inches.
3. There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon into this evening as well, with the potential for locally damaging downburst winds and small hail.
4. The flash flood threat will continue Wednesday into Thursday. Additionally, remnants of Tropical Storm Debby are expected to impact the county late this week into the weekend, more information will be provided at later briefings.
