Flood Advisory issued August 5 at 1:57AM EDT until August 5 at 5:00AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast and northern Florida, including the
following counties, in northeast Florida, Putnam. In northern
Florida, Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist, Marion and Union.
* WHEN...Until 500 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 157 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gainesville, Ocala, Interlachen, Citra, Fort McCoy, Melrose,
Lynne, Salt Springs, Juniper Springs, Worthington Spring,
Alachua, High Springs, Hawthorne, Fort White, Worthington
Springs, Cross Creek, Rochelle, Sparr, Orange Springs and
Newnans Lake.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
