Press Release: Invest 97 now Tropical Depression 4 Update #3
Levy County Emergency Management continues actively monitoring Invest 97L, which is now Tropical Depression 4.
Emergency Actions
A MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER is issued for:
Recreational vehicles park throughout the county, and they shall be removed from the county to the maximum extent possible.
Mobile Homes and Manufactured homes throughout the county.
Coastal Communities in the county.
Low-lying areas throughout the county.
Weather conditions may become so severe that emergency response services may not be able to respond during the storm.
Evacuations should be completed by 8pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Shelters will be open at noon on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Shelter Locations include:
General Population Shelter: Bronson Middle High School: 351 Ishie Avenue, Bronson.
Pet-Friendly Shelter: Bronson Middle High School is a Pet-Friendly Shelter. Citizens with animals needing shelter must bring a crate, food, bottled water (one gallon jug per animal), and medications. Owners must provide a Rabies vaccine certificate and proof of distemper parvo/ feline distemper vaccine. Levy County Animal Services will provide vaccines for an additional $10.00 per vaccine. If you cannot provide proof of vaccinations, your animal will be sheltered at the Levy County Animal Control shelter.
Special Needs Shelter: Bronson Elementary School, 400 Ishie Avenue, Bronson.

Storm Information from the National Weather Service
Levy County is now under a Hurricane Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning.
Residents should be prepared for a storm that could arrive by 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Heavy rainfall with 5-10” totals and gusty winds are expected.
Coastal Storm Surge of up to 7 feet MSL should be expected. Sunday morning will have a new moon, which will cause the tide to be higher than normal.
The water temperature in the Gulf of Mexico is warm. This can cause the storm to intensify rapidly.
Continue to monitor the weather and conditions, which may quickly change.
