Description
At the Council meeting held on July 17, 2024, Borough Council authorized the following actions regarding notifications sent out in May, 2024 about delinquent refuse accounts:

The Borough of Forest Hills has conducted a review of concerns regarding delinquent refuse bills and is taking proactive steps to address these issues. As a result of this evaluation, the Borough has authorized the forgiveness of outstanding refuse bills dated 2014 and prior.

In addition to forgiving bills from 2014 and earlier, the Borough of Forest Hills has also approved the forgiveness of prior fees associated with refuse bills from 2015 through 2021. This decision aims to alleviate financial burdens on affected ratepayers and foster a renewed sense of community cooperation.

"We understand the challenges faced by our residents, and we are committed to resolving these concerns in a fair and equitable manner," stated Barbara Martin, Council President. "By forgiving these outstanding bills and fees, we aim to provide relief and ensure that our community members can move forward without the weight of past financial obligations."

Letters detailing the forgiveness of bills and fees will be sent to all affected ratepayers in the coming days. The Borough encourages recipients to review these communications carefully and reach out to the Borough Offices with any questions or concerns.

The Borough of Forest Hills remains dedicated to serving its residents and fostering a positive environment for all community members. For further information or inquiries, please contact the Borough Offices at 412-351-7330 or visit www.foresthillspa.gov.
