Special Weather Statement issued July 16 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 600 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Carlisle, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Harrisburg, Carlisle, Lower Allen, Colonial Park, Progress,
Mechanicsburg, Middletown, Camp Hill, New Cumberland, Linglestown,
Enola, Steelton, Lemoyne, Hummelstown, Plainfield, Paxtonia,
Schlusser, Rutherford, Skyline View, and Lawnton.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
