Description
The first heat wave of the summer is expected this week. We expect there to be several consecutive days with temperatures exceeding 90°F and heat index values potentially in the 100 to 105°F range. The prolonged nature of this heat wave may have cumulative adverse effects on vulnerable populations exposed to the heat.
Cases of heat-related illness are possible if proper precautions are not taken. Outdoor workers and individuals with pre-existing health conditions will be among those at risk.
For additional information about dangerous heat, including how to plan and prepare, check out www.heat.gov
