Special Weather Statement issued June 5 at 6:32PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 632 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Weigelstown to near Dallastown to 12 miles
north of Cockeysville. Movement was northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
York, Weigelstown, Elizabethtown, Columbia, Middletown, Millersville,
Mount Joy, Red Lion, Steelton, Spry, Dallastown, Shiloh, East York,
Stonybrook-Wilshire, West York, Salunga-Landisville, Maytown,
Shrewsbury, Codorus, and Grantley.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
