Happy Flag Day!
When American flags become tattered, soiled, or faded, please do not through the flag in your trash can! Federal code states that American flags should be retired in a dignified way, preferably burned and buried.
The Avalon Borough Building has a flag retirement bin located in the front lobby. Area residents can drop off flags that are no longer fit to be displayed during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm). Local Boy Scout troops will ensure that the flags are properly disposed of.
