Special Weather Statement issued May 31 at 4:45AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

At 444 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles east of Rockdale to near Coupland to
near Mansfield Dam to Pedernales Falls State Park to near Blowout to
near Fredericksburg. Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, San Marcos, Pflugerville,
Kyle, Taylor, Buda, Boerne, Lockhart, Fredericksburg, Elgin, Bastrop,
Marble Falls, Giddings, Smithville, Dripping Springs, Wimberley, and
Blanco.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 AM CDT for
south central Texas.
