Special Weather Statement issued May 27 at 7:35PM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 735 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Cornwall, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lebanon, Ephrata, Lititz, New Holland, Manheim, East Petersburg,
Cornwall, Akron, Myerstown, Leola, Denver, Reamstown, Rothsville,
Pleasant Hill, Sand Hill, Newmanstown, Lebanon South, Cleona,
Adamstown, and Avon.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in State College PA.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
