Special Weather Statement issued May 22 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 559 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 15 miles north of Jersey Shore to near Lock
Haven. Movement was east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Williamsport, Lock Haven, Montoursville, Jersey Shore, Carroll,
Lamar, Mill Hall, Avis, Dunnstown, Flemington, Duboistown, Castanea,
McElhattan, Elimsport, Waterville, Trout Run, Little Pine State Park,
Cogan Station, Collomsville, and Mackeyville.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
central and north central Pennsylvania.
