Special Weather Statement issued May 11 at 5:37PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 536 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Moon Township, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Ross Township, McCandless
Township, Monroeville, Moon Township, McKeesport, Franklin Park,
Shaler Township, Plum, West Mifflin, North Side Pittsburgh, Baldwin,
Hampton Township, Scott Township, Wilkinsburg, Whitehall, Robinson
Township, and New Kensington.
This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 41 and 58.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 56 and 72.
Parkway North between mile markers 1 and 13.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 49 and 84.
