Description
Please be advised, Eastern Avenue, between Woodlawn Avenue and Buffalo Road, is slated to be milled and resurfaced beginning Monday the 6th and work should be concluded by Wednesday the 8th.
NOTE: No on-street parking during this period and access to residents' driveways will be limited during active construction.
Eastern Avenue was chosen at this time because it is in rough condition, it is highly trafficked, and the repairs could be completed with relatively simple mill and repave work rather than having to fully rebuilt the road including the foundation, as is required on other Borough streets.
Bidding information:
The Council went out to bid for this project in March and opened the sealed bids early April. Then, at the April 10th Council Meeting, Council approved of entering into a contract with McCormick Construction to complete the project.
The Borough received two bids for the project; one from Lindy Paving for $132,839.75 and one from McCormick for $105,838.50. The Council accepted the lowest bidder and they are proud that the contractor is a business located in the Borough!
