Special Weather Statement issued April 11 at 12:03PM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL
At 1202 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles west of Sparr, or 10 miles west of Citra, moving northeast at
70 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph and minor flooding due to heavy
rainfall.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor flooding due to heavy rainfall is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Ocala, Interlachen, Pomona Park, Melrose, Fort McCoy, Citra,
Hawthorne, Lake Delancy, Sparr, and Florahome.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 PM EDT for northern and
northeastern Florida.
