Special Weather Statement issued April 9 at 3:47PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
At 347 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Bee Cave, or near Dripping Springs, moving east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Austin, Dripping Springs, Lakeway, Bee Cave, West Lake Hills, Hudson
Bend, The Hills, Bear Creek, Barton Creek, Mansfield Dam, Point
Venture, Sunset Valley, Volente, and Lost Creek.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for south central
Texas.
