...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity for the
following rivers in Pennsylvania...
Chester Creek Near Chester affecting Delaware County.
For the Chester Creek...including Chester...Moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Chester Creek near Chester.
* WHEN...Until this evening.
* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, The creek floods adjacent open land.
At 10.5 feet, Flood damage, adjacent to the creek, begins in the
city of Chester.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:31 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 10.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 2:31 PM EDT Saturday was 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage late this
afternoon to 3.1 feet and then begin rising early tomorrow
afternoon. It will then rise again to 3.2 feet tomorrow
afternoon. It will fall to 3.0 feet and then begin rising
tomorrow evening then rise again.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
10.4 feet on 04/15/2007.
