Totality: 1:35 p.m. – 1:39 p.m.
Eclipse Ends: 2:59 p.m.
What:
Total solar eclipse with complete darkness
Safety:
• Do not view the eclipse directly without proper eye protection
• Prearrange a safe and unobscured viewing location
• Make note of important contacts prior to event (see website above)
Prepare:
• Stock food and water
• If possible, avoid travel on April 8th
• BEISD will be closed, make childcare arrangements if needed
• Fill vehicles with fuel
• Refill any essential prescriptions early
• Keep in mind that cell service may be interrupted
• Please exercise patience; expect long lines at restaurants and heavy traffic on roadways
