Lane restrictions Tuesday and Wednesday on SB Queen Street so protective fencing can be installed
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that temporary barrier located on the southbound side of the Route 74 (Queen Street) bridge spanning Interstate 83 in York County has been removed.
All lanes are now open to traffic on the bridge. Some finishing work planned for tomorrow and Wednesday will require short-term lane restrictions on the southbound side of the bridge.
Weather permitting, from, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM tomorrow, Tuesday, March 12, and Wednesday, March 13, the right lane of southbound Queen Street will be closed on the bridge so protective fencing can be installed on the permanent barrier.
Motorists should be alert and drive with caution though the work zone.
This work is associated with a project to repair the bridge after it was struck by multiple vehicles. Steel beams that were heat-straightened will be painted at a later date.
