Northern Washington County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Central Allegheny County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
West central Westmoreland County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Brooke County in northern West Virginia...
Hancock County in northern West Virginia...
* Until 1130 AM EDT.
* At 1047 AM EDT, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from Follansbee to near Monroeville, moving east at 35
mph.
HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
up to 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar and webcams.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.
This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 51 and 68.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 42 and 62.
Parkway North between mile markers 1 and 3.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 59 and 84.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Monroeville,
McMurray, Greensburg, Weirton, McKeesport, Steubenville, Jeannette,
Canonsburg, Latrobe, Avella, Gastonville, Shaler Township, Plum, West
Mifflin, North Side Pittsburgh, and Baldwin.
Consider avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes
your location. If you must travel, use extra caution and allow extra
time. Rapid changes in visibility and slick road conditions may lead
to accidents.
