Description
Special Weather Statement issued March 10 at 10:05AM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA

At 10 AM, bands of moderate to briefly heavy snow showers extended
in an arc from southern Jefferson County to northern Beaver
County in Pennsylvania, as well as into portions of the northern
West Virginia panhandle and far eastern Ohio. Movement was
generally to the east and southeast at 20 to 30 MPH.

In the heavier snow showers, visibility may briefly drop to less
than a half mile. Quick accumulation of around an inch will be
possible. Wind gusts of around 30 MPH may also create instances of
blowing snow.

Use extra caution if you must travel into or through these intense
snow showers. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick
roads are likely to lead to accidents. Icy roads are possible in
spots as the snow melts on the roads then quickly refreezes. Slow
down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Increase the
distance between your vehicle and those that surround you.
