Special Weather Statement issued March 3 at 1:47PM EST by NWS Jacksonville FL

At 147 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Gainesville to Rochelle. Movement was southwest
at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts around 40 mph, pea size hail, and minor flooding
due to heavy rainfall.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible. Minor flooding due to heavy rainfall is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Gainesville, Hawthorne, University Of Florida, Cross Creek,
Gainesville Airport, Newnans Lake, Rochelle, Micanopy, and Grove
Park.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
