Tornado Warning issued February 28 at 5:54AM EST until February 28 at 6:15AM EST by NWS Wilmington OH
At 554 AM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Canal Winchester, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.
Locations impacted include...
Newark, Reynoldsburg, Pickerington, Heath, Granville, Pataskala,
Canal Winchester, Baltimore, Buckeye Lake, Hebron, Millersport,
Pleasantville, Harbor Hills, Granville South, Fairfield Beach,
Beechwood Trails, Summit Station, Thornport, Etna, and Jersey.
This includes I-70 in Ohio between mile markers 112 and 136.
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
