Description
Special Weather Statement issued February 24 at 11:09AM EST by NWS Pittsburgh PA
Light to locally moderate snow will continue through midday, with snow
tapering off gradually from north to south as drier air works in
from the north and west. Additional accumulation of around a half
inch of snow can be expected, especially south of I-70, with
localized totals of up to an inch. Although much of the
additional accumulation will occur on grassy and elevated
surfaces, slick spots on roads and highways are still possible,
with bridges and overpasses especially vulnerable. Reduced
visibility may also be encountered, perhaps to under one mile at
times.
Please use extra caution if traveling this morning and allow for
some extra time to reach your destination. If you encounter steady
snow that reduces visibility, slow down and increase the distance
between your vehicle and those that surround you.
