Description
The Borough of Aspinwall has several vacancies on our commission and committees. If you are interested in volunteering, email Melissa O’Malley (melissa@boroughofaspinwall.com) a copy of your resume along with a letter of interest. The vacancies are listed below.
Vacancy Board – 1 member
The Vacancy Board is responsible for filling any vacancy in the position of Borough Council member, Mayor, or Tax Collector if Council refuses, fails, neglects or is unable for any reason whatsoever to do so.
Shade Tree Commission – 1 member
Applicants should be interested in the environment and a strong desire to serve the community. Members should be able to commit to an average of 6-10 hours of work per month (including attending monthly meetings on every third Wednesday).
Civil Service – 2 alternate members
The civil service commission insures the maintenance of a merit personnel system to recruit, employ, promote and retain qualified persons for employment with the Borough of Aspinwall.
Zoning Hearing Board – 2 members
The board hears and renders decisions regarding specific types of land use applications.
UCC Board of Appeals – 1 member
The UCC Appeals Board hears and rules on appeals, requests for variances and requests for extensions of time under the Uniform Construction Code. Members of the Appeals Board must be qualified by training and experience to pass on matters pertaining to building construction.
