Description
Winter Storm Warning issued February 12 at 2:15PM EST until February 13 at 1:00PM EST by NWS State College PA
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9
inches.
* WHERE...The Middle Susquehanna Valley, Western Poconos and
North-Central Mountains of Pennsylvania.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 1 PM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will turn to snow overnight. The
snow is expected to be heaviest during a 4 to 6 hour period
late tonight and Tuesday morning. Snowfall rates of an inch or
more per hour are possible during this period. Snowfall rates
this high would slow travel significantly and make it
dangerous during the morning commute.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania
Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all
travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel as significant
winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous.
