Flood Warning issued January 24 at 11:30AM CST until January 24 at 6:00PM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

Heavy rainfall overnight has led to widespread road closures across
much of the Coastal Plains. Although rainfall rates are mainly
0.25"/hr or less at this time, isolated 1"/hr amounts are still
occurring, and the region is saturated. Expect continued rain
chances through tonight with up to 2" of additional rain, locally up
to 3".

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Bastrop, Caldwell, DeWitt, Fayette, Gonzales, Karnes,
Lavaca, Lee and Wilson.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated
with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1126 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Up to 7 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cuero, Gonzales, Yoakum, Luling, Giddings, La Grange,
Smithville, Kenedy, Karnes City, Schulenburg, Hallettsville,
Yorktown, Shiner, Flatonia, Moulton, Kosciusko, Nixon,
Waelder, Runge and Falls City.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
