Special Weather Statement issued January 16 at 6:41AM EST by NWS Jacksonville FL

At 641 AM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
University Of Florida, or 8 miles south of Gainesville, moving
northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts around 40 mph, pea size hail, and minor flooding
due to heavy rainfall.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible. Minor flooding due to heavy rainfall is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Interlachen, Melrose, Hawthorne, Lake Geneva, Florahome, Rochelle,
Melrose Landing, Hollister, Newnans Lake, and Micanopy.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
