High Wind Warning issued January 12 at 9:44AM EST until January 14 at 1:00AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Southeast to southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up
to 60 mph expected.
* WHERE...Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula Lakeshore Counties.
* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 1 AM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will initially be southeast this
afternoon and evening, becoming southwest by tonight. The
strongest winds are expected near the lakeshore.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
