Flood Warning issued January 9 at 9:39PM EST until January 10 at 12:00AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following
county, New Castle, southern New Jersey, including the following
counties, Gloucester and Salem, and southeast Pennsylvania,
including the following counties, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery.

* WHEN...Until midnight EST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 937 PM EST, local law enforcement reported numerous road
closures in Chester County, Pennsylvania and New Castle
County, Delaware as an area of very heavy rainfall continues
across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
- For East Branch Brandywine Creek at Downingtown:
At 8:45pm the stage was 9.41 feet and rising.
Flood Stage is 7 feet.

For French Creek at Phoenixville:
At 8:30pm the stage was 9.14 feet and rising.
Flood Stage is 8 feet.

For Christina River at Wilmington:
At 8:36pm the stage was 8.05 feet and rising.
Flood Stage is 7.4 feet.

For Christina River at Newport:
At 8:36pm the stage was 7.33 feet and rising.
Flood Stage is 7.2 feet.

For Christina River at Coochs Bridge:
At 9:15pm the stage was 11.9 feet and rising.
Flood Stage is 11 feet.

For Red Clay Creek at Wooddale:
At 8:45pm the stage was 7.46 feet.
Flood Stage is 7 feet.

For Schuylkill River at Reading:
At 9:15pm the stage was 6.22 feet.
Flood Stage is 15.5 feet.

For Delaware River at Delaware City:
At 9:18pm the stage was 8.79 feet.
Flood Stage is 7.5 feet.

For West Branch Brandywine Creek at Honey Brook:
At 8:45pm the stage was 7.4 feet.
Flood Stage is 7 feet.

For Chester Creek at Chester:
At 9:31pm the stage was 10.49 feet.
Flood Stage is 8 feet.

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
