Flood Warning issued January 9 at 9:29PM EST until January 10 at 9:00AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Chester Creek near Chester.
* WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning.
* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, The creek floods adjacent open land.
At 10.5 feet, Flood damage, adjacent to the creek, begins in the
city of Chester.
At 11.5 feet, Parker and Kerlin Streets flood. The 600 to 1300
blocks of Parker Street are subject to evacuations. The 1300-1400
blocks of Kerlin Street are also subject to evacuations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:16 PM EST Tuesday the stage was 10.1 feet and rising.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:16 PM EST Tuesday was 10.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 11.1 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late
tonight to 2.4 feet and begin rising again late tomorrow
evening. It will rise above flood stage late tomorrow evening
and continue to rise to 9.2 feet early Thursday morning. It
will then fall again but remain above flood stage.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.2 feet on 01/19/1996.
