Description
Flood Watch issued January 9 at 7:11PM EST until January 10 at 1:00PM EST by NWS State College PA
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snow melt continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Most of Central Pennsylvania.
* WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy rain is falling on a snowpack. Gusty winds and very
mild temperatures are helping to hasten the snow melt. This
may cause smaller streams and creeks to quickly overflow
their banks. Flows in rivers are also expected to increase,
but will take many more hours to do so.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
