Have you ever considered becoming a truly active member of the Red Lion Borough Community? Here are your opportunities! We are looking for two Planning Commission members as well as an alternate Zoning Hearing Board member. “So, what would I do?” you ask.
Planning Commission members review proposed development plans and review and suggest changes to the Borough Ordinances to the Borough Council. They meet monthly, normally on the third Monday of each month. If there is nothing that needs to be reviewed, they do not meet.
The Zoning Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial board. They hear appeals of zoning decisions by the Zoning Officer, requests for Special Exception uses to the Zoning ordinances, and requests for waivers to the zoning ordinances. They only meet as needed. As an alternate Zoning Hearing Board member, you would only be needed if one of the three regular members is unable to attend.
