Special Marine Warning issued January 9 at 6:34AM HST until January 9 at 7:30AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI

For the following areas...
Alenuihaha Channel...
Big Island Leeward Waters...
Big Island Windward Waters...
Maalaea Bay...
Maui County Leeward Waters...
Maui County Windward Waters...
Pailolo Channel...

At 628 AM HST, widespread showers with possible isolated
thunderstorms moving up from the south could produce wind gusts to
34 knots. Visibilities may be severely restricted within heavy
downpours.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
FAD Buoy OT, Upolu Point, FAD Buoy C, FAD Buoy B, Kawaihae Harbor,
FAD Buoy F, Kahului Harbor, and Keahole Point.

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Prepare for gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding
downpours. Stay low or go below, and make sure all on board are
wearing life jackets.
