Red Flag Warning issued January 8 at 5:55AM CST until January 9 at 12:00AM CST by NWS Corpus Christi TX
The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Red
Flag Warning for low relative humidity and strong, gusty winds,
which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to midnight CST tonight.
* AFFECTED AREA...Goliad, Inland Kleberg, Inland Nueces and
Inland San Patricio.
* TIMING...Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.
* WINDS...Northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 30 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Up to 71.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior. Residents are urged to
exercise care with respect to all outdoor activities that could
inadvertently cause wildfires. Report wildfires quickly to the
nearest fire department or law enforcement office.
