Coastal Flood Watch issued January 8 at 4:22AM EST until January 10 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ
* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level
possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways.
* WHERE...Kent MD, Queen Annes, Talbot and Caroline.
* WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in
bayside communities and along tidal waterways. Some roads
become impassable. Minor damage to vulnerable structures may
begin to occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor tidal flooding is expected Tuesday with
the afternoon high tide cycle with water levels expected to
continue rising into Tuesday night due to very strong southerly
winds. This will lead to potentially significant flooding with
the Tuesday night high tide cycle.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
