Winter Storm Warning issued January 7 at 12:56AM EST until January 7 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected to continue. Total snow
accumulations of 10 to 14 inches with locally higher amounts
near 15 inches in northwest Connecticut expected. Winds gusting
as high as 30 to 40 mph in the higher terrain areas.
* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, western
Massachusetts and mid Hudson Valley and eastern Catskills.
* WHEN...Through 7 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult tonight due to snow
covered roadways and reduced visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to one inch per hour at
times tonight. Snowfall rates up to 2 inches per hour at times
are possible in the eastern Catskills.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
