Winter Storm Warning issued January 6 at 3:51PM EST until January 7 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 12
inches with 12 to 18 inches expected in the eastern Catskills.
Winds gusting as high as 30 to 40 mph in the higher terrain
areas.
* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, western
Massachusetts and mid Hudson Valley and eastern Catskills.
* WHEN...From 4 PM Saturday to 7 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult tonight due to snow
covered roadways and reduced visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates around one inch per hour at
times tonight. Snowfall rates up to 2 inches per hour at times
are possible in the eastern Catskills.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
