Winter Storm Warning issued January 6 at 11:56AM EST until January 6 at 10:00PM EST by NWS State College PA
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total accumulations of 6 to 8
inches.
* WHERE...The Central Mountains of Pennsylvania.
* WHEN...Through 10 PM EST this Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult, especially during the
afternoon and early evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The snow will fall heavily at times between
noon and 6 pm, with snowfall rates as high as 2 inches per hour.
Much lighter snow will fall after 7 pm. Localized snow totals
could reach 9 or 10 inches.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania
Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all
travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel as significant
winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous.
