Flood Warning issued December 18 at 12:38PM EST until December 18 at 3:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of east central New York, including the
following counties, Greene and Ulster.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM EST.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. Many roads are
closed in Ulster and parts of Greene County per reports from local
authorities. Between 3.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen with
nearly 5 inches at the Tannersville NYS mesonet site.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1233 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly in the warned area.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.75 inches are possible in
the warned area through this afternoon.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hunter, Woodstock, Windham, Prattsville, Lanesville,
Phoenicia, Mount Tremper, Woodland Valley Campground, Kenneth
L Wilson Campground, West Shokan, North-South Lake
Campground, Cairo, Shandaken, Durham, Ashland, Jewett,
Lexington, Denning, Tannersville and Chichester.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
