Description
Flood Warning issued December 18 at 8:14AM EST until December 18 at 9:00AM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of east central New York, including the
following counties, Greene and Ulster.
* WHEN...Until 900 AM EST.
* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
earlier rainfall. Expect areas of slow moving or standing water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 813 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy
rainfall across the warned area. Between 3 and 4.5 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible
in the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hunter, Woodstock, Windham, Prattsville, Lanesville,
Phoenicia, Mount Tremper, Woodland Valley Campground, Kenneth
L Wilson Campground, West Shokan, North-South Lake
Campground, Cairo, Shandaken, Durham, Ashland, Jewett,
Lexington, Denning, Tannersville and Chichester.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
