Winter Storm Warning issued December 11 at 4:15AM EST until December 11 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY
* WHAT...Heavy wet snow. Storm total accumulation of 4 to 8
inches, with locally up to 10 inches at highest peaks of the
central Adirondacks and eastern Catskills. Winds gusting as
high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...The western and central Adirondacks, western Mohawk
Valley, Schoharie Valley and eastern Catskills
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult due to snow covered
roadways and low visibility. The hazardous conditions could
impact the morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The weight of
the snow combined with gusty winds could lead to downed trees
and power lines resulting in some power outages. The higher
snowfall amounts will occur at elevations above 1500 feet.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
